Amounts above are annual and are paid in two instalments in March and October. Cubs and Scouts are slightly higher than Beavers due to the requirement to purchase and use more expensive equipment and the taking part in more adventurous activities.  As in many similar groups, fuel costs have escalated recently, adding to the annual running costs of the HQ building.

All the people you see and meet in Scouting are unpaid volunteers. Subs are charged which go towards the running costs of the whole Group including the building and equipment. Most of our money comes from fund raising events like Exploding Brass, Firework night, Taverham Fayre and Jumble Sales – if we didn’t do these the annual cost would be much more. We also hire out the Scout Hall to provide Day Care Services. It costs £18,000 a year to run Scouts in Taverham.
